Privacy Policy

Our Core Promise: Your Data Stays Local
Jetomics is designed to protect your intellectual property. Unlike cloud platforms, we do not require you to upload your raw sequencing data (FASTQ/BAM files) or count matrices to our servers to perform analysis.
1. Data Processing Location
The vast majority of data processing happens locally on your computer's hardware (CPU/RAM). Your raw transcriptomic data, sample metadata, and full expression matrices are stored on your local disk and are never transmitted to Jetomics servers.
2. Information We Collect
We collect limited information to manage licenses and improve stability:
- Account Info: Name, email, and institution (provided during registration).
- License Verification: When you launch the app, we check your unique Machine ID and License Key against our server to validate your subscription.
- Crash Reports (Optional): If the app crashes, you may choose to send a log file containing stack traces. This does not contain biological data.
3. External API Usage (GSEA & Enrichment)
While your full dataset remains local, specific features require communication with external biological databases. When you run Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA), GO Enrichment, or KEGG Pathway Analysis:
- What is sent: A list of gene identifiers (e.g., Gene Symbols or Ensembl IDs) and their associated fold-change values.
- What is NOT sent: Raw counts, sample names, patient IDs, or full experimental design metadata.
- Where it goes: These gene lists are sent securely (via HTTPS) to third-party public APIs (e.g., Enrichr, KEGG, or Reactome) to retrieve pathway results.
4. Data Security
Since your sensitive genomic data resides on your machine, you are the primary custodian of its security. We recommend using Full Disk Encryption (BitLocker/FileVault) on devices running Jetomics.
5. Updates to this Policy
We may update this policy as we add new features. If a new feature requires sending additional data types to the cloud, we will notify you and request consent within the application.
